Maister House, Hull
the city’s only National Trust property needed vital restoration work to preserve it for future generations. The main feature of the house is its broad staircase with delicate wrought-iron balustrade. Stone completed preservation works on the staircase, including strengthening and steel fabrication works.
The staircase and entrance hall are open to the public and the rest of Maister House is used as offices. Maister House was built in the 1700s on Hull’s High Street and belonged to the Maisters, a wealthy merchant’s family who traded with ports around the North Sea and Baltic.
