Stone Technical Services is seeing its reputation and turnover grow thanks to the variety of projects it is now undertaking and new contracts it is securing.

The family-run business, whose headquarters are on Kellaw Road in Darlington, has a UK-wide reputation for its high level restoration and renovation work but also specialises in steeplejack and general maintenance projects for a range of buildings and structures.

Stone has recently clinched projects totalling in the region of £100,000 to carry our work on buildings around Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

In Masham, North Yorkshire Stone's experts are completing work on the famous Theakston's Brewery, which dates back to the 1800s. Stone is completing a range of works on the visitor centre including the re-pointing, painting and strengthening of the chimney.

In Leeds, Stone's steeplejack division is carrying out a full concrete repair and inspection of Merrion House, a city centre multi-storey office block which is home to a range of businesses. Stone will also remove loose masonry and carry out a range of structural repairs on the 60 meter high building.

And Stone's growing general maintenance division has been engaged to complete a range of work at Scunthorpe General Hospital. Here, experts will carry out a survey of the main fabric of the building to help the NHS plan its future repair budget and also replace the roof and rainwater systems.

Other recent projects have included gutter cleaning, slate, masonry and roofing repairs and work to prevent water damage at locations across the UK.

Stone employs a team of 28 and now has premises in Cheadle Hulme near Stockport, close to Piccadilly Circus on Orange Street in central London, Pinner in Middlesex and its headquarters in Darlington.

Managing director, Dave Stone said: "Companies and organisations need to plan their budgets now more than ever and that's what we help them to do. The variety of work we now carry out is allowing us to grow as a company all over the UK which is very exciting for the North East as it is putting us on the map."
